Years after adding Jira support to its product, Swedish software company Hansoft is trying to push developers who need to track bugs off Jira and onto the latest version of its eponymous project management toolset.
Game developers who use Hansoft to manage their production should know that Hansoft 9 went live this week, and with it comes improved issue tracking features, a fresh UI and a smattering of other additions detailed in full over on the company blog.
“We have had some customers running their agile portfolio, program, and project management in Hansoft but had their issue tickets in Jira,” writes Hansoft chief Patric Palm. “The improved capabilities now makes it easy for these teams to migrate also their defect tracking process to Hansoft from Jira.”
In the same blog post, Hansoft chief Patric Palm lays out plans to launch a new piece of software, codenamed Hansoft X, intended to run “on the cloud” rather than on your studio’s machines. The company is also undergoing some reorganzation and expects to move into a new headquarters in Uppsala before the end of the year.
Hansoft’s notable game industry clients include Ubisoft and id Software, who use its suite of tools for Agile development, task scheduling, real-time reporting, QA duties and similar production work.
